Studio East Dance Company is proudly led by Ramona Reuter, a seasoned educator with more than 20 years of studio ownership and over 35 years of teaching experience in the dance industry. With a focus on growth, structure, and encouragement, the studio welcomes dancers from ages 18 months through adult across both recreational and competitive programs.
Each class is designed to support age-appropriate training with thoughtfully selected choreography, music, and costuming. Instruction centers on strong technical foundations and steady progress, allowing students to build confidence in a motivating and structured environment.
Ramona remains active in professional development by attending annual teacher and studio owner retreats, including Energize, USMA, and the Dance Teacher Life Conference, where she has earned three scholarships—one to each event. She also regularly participates in conventions, competitions, and master classes throughout New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and surrounding areas, bringing current techniques and teaching methods directly to her students.

The Studio East Experience
Studio East offers training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, tumble, pre-pointe, pointe, and musical theatre. Ballroom will also be added soon.
Our Fairport location offers a professional and welcoming environment designed with both families and dancers in mind. Parents are invited to relax in our comfortable lobby during class time. Each studio is equipped with viewing cameras, giving families a chance to observe classes during scheduled times throughout the season. This also acts as a safety net for all teachers, students, and families.
All dance rooms are built with sprung floors and Marley overlays to support dancer safety and performance. The facility includes two bathrooms, a dedicated student lounge, and a vending machine for convenient access to snacks and drinks.

A performance background that shaped her leadership and artistry
Ramona’s Buffalo Bills Cheerleading and Pageant Experience
Before founding Studio East Dance Company, Ramona brought her talent to the national spotlight as an NFL cheerleader for the Buffalo Bills. Her time with the organization strengthened her stage presence, discipline, and professionalism, all of which influence the training environment she creates for her students.
During this period of her career, Ramona also earned the title of Miss New York USA and went on to represent New York in the live televised Miss USA national pageant. The combination of professional cheerleading and pageant experience gave her a strong foundation in performance quality, confidence, and poise — qualities she now passes on to dancers in both the recreational and competitive programs.
Her background in high-level performance environments continues to guide her approach to coaching, choreography, and studio leadership, offering students a connection to real-world industry experience.

Professional Dancers on Staff
Studio East Dance Company is home to a team of instructors who bring extensive professional backgrounds to their teaching. Their work with ballet companies, dance theatres, university programs, and national stages contributes to the high standard of training offered throughout the studio.
Several members of our faculty have danced professionally, including roles in major classical and contemporary works. Their firsthand experience with rehearsals, company expectations, and stage production gives students a deeper understanding of what it means to train and perform at an advanced level.
Two instructors on our staff have performed in The Nutcracker, one of the most recognized and beloved ballet productions.
Jessica, an apprentice with Rochester City Ballet and former Louisville Ballet Studio Company member, has danced numerous classical variations throughout her pre-professional and professional training.
Lizzie, a company member with New York State Ballet and former dancer with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Graduate Program, has performed in The Nutcracker annually for many seasons, along with additional classical productions across the Northeast.
Their experience in this holiday tradition brings valuable insight into classical ballet technique, artistry, and performance preparation.
